An American in Paris. I can still see that old place. I put some old music on (Billie Holiday)(mellow old skool vocal Jazz orchestra) and reminisce over those crazy days in Chatou. We had an RER Stop. The Year was 1991. Moved over there with the fam. We lived in the suburbs. I had a bike. I wonder what happened to that bike. I used to love biking around. It's still popular with French kids, riding a bicycle 🚴🏻 they really are addicted to popping wheelies over here. (Someone should make a video of all those French kids they're hilarious)(youtube: "french kids popping wheelies") We used to have a local marché on the weekends, the town had a boucherie, a laundromat, a Boulangerie, a Patisserie, and a Super Marché. I used to buy myself dark chocolate covered marshmallows at the Marché. Mhmmm! That was my tasty kid treat for 3 years in France. That and I couldn't resist a Tarte au Fraise or a Tarte au Framboise of a Tarte au Fruits Rouge from the local shopkeepees. They were probably not even too great. But what did I know. To this day it's taught me to seek out and taste and find the best of the best. Too my great surprise their gateau is tres Croustillante. Crumbly. But firm and a bit of jelliness. Tres classique in my opinion. Come. Have a tarte. Take a journey through time.
