  Nice little museum with some lesser important works of Matisse. The most interesting part of the visit is the history on Matisse's life which is laid out in the route to follow through the different rooms. €10 entry ticket, which allows access for 24h to all of the museums that belong to the city of Nice. Most of those are not worth €10 on their own, so good to plan a day of doing some of these museums together.

  There seems to be ban on disabled people accessing this place. I don’t need a wheelchair but I don’t need stairs either. Entrance and exit is via a lot of stairs to a reception area with no lift access, and more stairs to get in and out of the museum. After much arm waving we were able to gain admission via the back disabled entrance from an unwilling guard. So no opportunity to see the famous large wall hangings. Nevertheless I had to pay for the privilege of missing this and other parts of the exhibition. My, more than honest, wife trekked down the stairs and back up with tickets, I wouldn’t have paid! There is s single small lift accessing parts of the gallery but more stairs as well. No chairs, but a much too low chaise longue in one room to watch a video allowing people to stand in front to block the view. Another song and dance to get out via the disabled entrance. I do not intend to go back and I do not recommend this place for a visit. 2 stars? The material we were allowed to see was if course first rate, pity we couldn’t see more.

  They are not well organized for groups. They wouldn’t let us in with our knapsacks and even if there were lockers behind the guard, we had to leave them all outside in the drizzle. My colleague and I had to take turns standing outside waiting for our students. It was a nice museum but there were non of his most known works. The villa and surrounding garden were absolutely beautiful.

  Et af de absolut mest seværdige museer i Nice. Udover de mange værker, er der også en omfattende gennemgang af Matisse's gøren og laden i Nice og omegn. Museet er et af de kommunale museer, så entreprisen er overkommelig, især hvis man køber et ugekort, som giver adgang til alle de kommunale museer

  Det koster 10 Euros at komme ind, men giver samtidig adgang til de øvrige museer.
