::This wonderful church has been here since 1624, so I can't believe I'm the first to review 'my' Church... :) Église Saint Matthieu (1624), Ancienne église des dominicains. Elle se situe dans la rue Germain. Le maître-autel est l'œuvre du menuisier André Coula et du sculpteur Antoine Subreuille. Une belle église paisible! The Church of Saint Matthieu is a beautiful peaceful place in an otherwise busy cosmopolitan city. When you enter, you feel the sensation of peace wash over you, instantly relaxed, the pressures of work soon forgotten. The air is cooler than the warm temperatures outside and every wall is decorated in the way that only the ancient builders used to do. In several places you'll spot the mark of the Knights Templar and the friezes are so detailed depicting some beautiful scenes of God's angels sent to help those in need. Time passes slowly in the Église Saint Matthieu. Highly Recommended. :)
