::La Cité de l'Architecture et du Patrimoine is the place to go if you want to learn about architectural history of Paris. It is dedicated to the knowledge of architecture in the city, both past and present. It is a resource centre for architectural, urban, and landscape culture. The collection is outstanding and visiting it a pleasure. It's plenty of models of buildings such as Notre-Dame de Paris, the Cathedral of Reims, and other churches from across France. The Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Architecture presents models, films, documents, included a reproduction of a Le Corbusier house.

::This is an incredible and extensive collection of statuary, architecture, frescoes, and glass, from medieval to modern, from all over France. You can see the sculpture up close because they are finely-made plaster casts, colored in most cases to be good replicas, and because they were made before pollution and wear took their toll, closer to the original detail than on many monuments. Plan to devote hours if you're at all interested in medieval and renaissance art a nd architecture, which makes up the majority of the collection. The copies of frescoes were a surprise and delight. (Currently the stained glass rooms are not open.)

::How wonderful that the items shown have been preserved and are on display to the public. For a small fee you can be lost for hours, going back hundreds of years. Awe-inspiring, this collection is outstanding. Not for young children, even the building which houses the pieces is unique. Some of the best views of the Eiffel Tower and Paris are showcased in their amazing windows. Spend some time appreciating the talents of bygone eras.
