Unfriendly and very unhelpful, Not sure if it was because we were english or didnt speak french.people washing out pottys in washing up sinks, which were also only available for washing hands after using toilets next door. Worst 4 days of our holiday. Salad=lettuce leaves caked in oil!! Step dad was very sick and they offered no help or sympathy.had to call for a driver from uk to drive us home and stepdad was instantly hospitalised for 4 weeks.

We loved les Granges, we only planned to stay for 2 nights, ended up staying 5! Pitch, level, shaded, private. Near to clean toilet and clean showers, with very hot water. Hot water for dishes too. Quiet campsite, pool was small but my children enjoyed it. They enjoyed the bouncy castle, trampolines, and making friends. It felt a very safe campsite. One night an Irish band played. Has a bar, offers some hot food. We caught bus into Tours. Bus €1.50. Tourist office in Luynes was very helpful and spoke English. We visited a chateau. Super U in town, can catch the bus!

Don't listen to ANY of the negative reviews ! Honestly this site is fantastic. What do they want? For the tent to be put up themselves !!!!! Jeeeez. The French speaking owners were wonderful and welcoming. I'm not fluent in French myself but we got there with the basics. The comment below which states there are only three shower cubicles - there isn't! Had the reviewer walked another 5 steps to the left or right they'd have seen a carbon copy of the same shower area - therefore making 6! We went in the height of summer and never had to wait for a shower. The pool are is very secure and gated - and what a wonderful swimming pool it is. The lounge area is clean and comfortable, and to be honest - hardly ever full / busy during the day. Gets busier towards evening when families come back from day trips but even then - never full to capacity. The play area facilities for the kids is amazing too. Bouncy castles and trampolines so the kids have some variety. There was a welcoming committee a couple of nights a week - where you could go to meet other campers etc. We didn't take advantage of this but did walk past as it was going on and looked very friendly, with drinks and talks. There was also a country style singer on one of the nights where you could book for dinner al fresco to enjoy the entertainment. Again - we didn't partake in the festivities per se - but did enjoy listening to the band from our own camp area with our own cheap wine :-) Some might not enjoy the style or how late it went on to (probably around 10.30 ish) - although we had a 3 year old who still went out like a light! But to reiterate - out of a 5 night stay this only went on for one! The range of chateau in the area is second to none. All major chateau and even a few little hidden gems are within a half hour of the site. We would definitely return. We are already looking at summer 2014 to catch up with the chateau we missed out on.

This camping got a 9,5 rating which I don't understand at all. It was definitely inferior to other campings we visit. There are 4 showers, two have a broken standard so you have to hold it and simultaneously press the button to get water. Number 3 had a two second timing on the water, so pressing the button every 2 seconds and try to shower is difficult if not impossible. There is one warm water tap for doing the dishes. To me the whole camping was to make money not to welcome visitors. Another example are the internet rates: 8 euro for a day or 5 euro for an hour. Ridiculous!
